Speak the World -- a poem

Speak the World

Can I be a voice for the world?
Can I be anything else?

Are we not all
a voice, really the voice
for the world?

I begin writing today,
after months of silence.

After months even years
of searching for other
means of expressing
who I am
and where I fit.

But I don’t fit in . . .

I don’t belong in any group:
Catholic, Buddhist, Jewish, New Age, Integral . . .

Not even Nomadic . . .

So, I can only speak me
and so speak the world.
